Code Of Conduct
Azgar Petroleum has established itself as a premier brand in the realm of business development and commodity supply, owing to the dedication of our employees and partners. Our unwavering commitment lies in continual growth, aimed at adding value and surpassing the expectations of all our customers. As a prominent global trader of commodities, Azgar Petroleum operates under the jurisdiction of numerous regulatory bodies worldwide, spanning health and safety, environmental concerns, financial crime, international trade, sanctions, and more.
Internally, we have implemented “Azgar Petroleum’s Code of Conduct and Policies” to ensure alignment with our values amidst the ever-evolving regulatory landscape. Recognizing our collective responsibility to uphold these values and comply with legislation in all endeavors, this Code of Conduct delineates our expectations. We strongly encourage our partners to establish similar codes of conduct, and we pledge our support in fostering awareness and compliance across all areas outlined in this policy.
Compliance with Laws and Tax
Partners must adhere to relevant laws and regulations and refrain from engaging in illegal tax evasion practices.
Corruption
Corruption is the basis for the destruction of societal values, and it entails the offering, expectation, or acceptance of bribes, irrespective of their form, method, or intent. Azgar Petroleum firmly opposes bribery and unauthorized influences. Our Partners are required to establish suitable anti-corruption measures and policies to adhere to applicable laws.
Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
Money laundering involves any scheme in which the profits from illegal activities are concealed or portrayed as lawful. Azgar Petroleum is committed to abstaining from and requires its Partners to refrain from engaging in or aiding money laundering, terrorism financing, or any other financial wrongdoing. We will diligently conduct appropriate due diligence to identify potential instances of money laundering and terrorist financing within the supply chain.
Trade Compliance
Our Partners are required to adhere to all relevant export and trade sanctions laws, regulations, rules, and licenses, including those established by entities such as the U.S., the UN, and the EU ("Export Laws"). Under no circumstances should a transaction be structured or documented in a way that evades compliance with Export Laws. When engaging in any transaction with Azgar Petroleum, we guarantee that:
We, and our affiliates, will neither directly nor indirectly engage in any dealings with individuals or entities that contravene Export Laws or violate any prohibited end-use outlined by Export Laws.
In the case of purchases, we are the genuine purchasers of goods from Azgar Petroleum. These goods will not be sold, transferred, or made available to any individual or entity listed on any applicable list of prohibited parties or subject to sanctions imposed by entities like the UN, EU, U.S., or other countries, in violation of Export Laws.
We commit to refraining from actions that might result in Azgar Petroleum violating Export Laws. It is imperative that our Partners strictly adhere to all relevant Export Laws. Additionally, we request a reasonable amount of information to fulfill our KYC (know-your-customer) requirements.
Human Rights and Labor
Human rights are a fundamental right for which everyone is entitled. We are dedicated to upholding and advancing international human rights principles across the entirety of our value chain.
Safe and secure workplace – Azgar Petroleum requires Partners to be dedicated to providing a safe and healthy work environment and to work to minimize risks for accidents and other exposure to health risks.
Forced labor and child labor – Azgar Petroleum does not accept any form of child labor or any forms of forced labor (including prison labor, military labor, modern slavery, or any form of human trafficking).
Respect – We encourage our Partners to always treat people with respect and to not allow any form of discrimination against employees. We believe in equal opportunity and fair remuneration.
Fair Competition
Our Partners are obligated to adhere to regulations governing fair competition, also known as "anti-trust" laws. They must refrain from entering into agreements with competitors that impede competition, which includes practices such as price fixing, customer allocation, bid rigging, and similar activities.
Environment
Azgar Petroleum prioritizes compliance with environmental regulations and strives to preserve the environment. We anticipate our Partners to uphold similar standards, at a minimum, in alignment with relevant legislation, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Mutual values serve as a cornerstone for our business relationship. Consequently, any breach of this Code of Conduct is deemed a significant event and may result in the erosion of trust between Azgar Petroleum and the Partner, potentially leading to legal repercussions. Any concerns regarding compliance with this Code of Conduct should be promptly reported to the Compliance Department at contact@azgarpetroleum.ae.
